Thanksgiving is a harvest festival primarily celebrated in Canada and the United States. It's a time to give thanks for a bountiful harvest and to be grateful, in general.

The "First Thanksgiving" is traditionally thought of as happening in 1621 at the site of Plymouth Plantation. Thanksgiving was celebrated that year on November 29th and continues to be celebrated in November in the United States. The present date of the American Thanksgiving was set as the fourth Thursday of every November by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1939 (made official by Congress in 1941), while Canadian Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday in October.

Both the American and Canadian Thanksgiving celebrations include a family with family and/or friends, featuring foods like turkey, stuffing (or dressing), cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie.
