Mardi Gras Recipes King Cake

If New Orleans is a “food city”, then Mardi Gras is its food holiday. Mardi Gras, aka Fat Tuesday, is a festival celebrating the luxury that is a fine gumbo, a shrimp po’ boy, a warm beignet, or a deliciously sugar coated King Cake before the fasting common during the religious observance of Lent, which begins the day after on Ash Wednesday.
